This month's Bulletin attachment is our annual Employee Attendance Tracking Calendar. Many of our clients find this a useful model to use for supervisors to track the specific types of absences of the group they supervise. Most employers have links to an HR reports system and/or payroll for tracking absences; however, there can be a missing step where the supervisor needs to keep a record of the individual absences. The Employee Attendance Tracking Calendar can bridge this gap.
While it is necessary for the supervisor to follow absences, remember that under HIPAA guidelines, specific medical information should be restricted to the “medical officer” and released only on a need-to-know basis.
